About Me

In January 2005 I moved to North London from Cork, Ireland and commenced my private practice in North London.

I moved to Ireland from Birmingham in 1975. From 1990 until December 2004 I was working in private practice in Cork as a counsellor and psychotherapist with adults, adolescents and children. In 1995, I also started working as a trainer and supervisor. My work was both with individuals and groups.

I am currently:

In private practice in East Finchley as a therapist and supervisor
Part-time tutor on BSc in Integrative Counselling at Matrix College, Norfolk




In Ireland I worked as an external consultant for several organisations, including:
  • Southern Health Board in Cork, predominantly working with children who had been sexually abused.
  • Faoiseamh, as psychotherapist for victims of clerical abuse
  • EAP Solutions, as Associate Counsellor in brief therapy
  • Cork Rape Crisis Service, as individual and group therapist

    As a supervisor I worked with counsellors/therapists in:
  • National Counselling Service for victims of Institutional abuse
  • Kilkenny Child and Family Centre
  • Kilkenny Rape Crisis Centre
  • Neighbourhood Youth Project in Cork
  • other individual therapists, clinical psychologists and social workers

    As a trainer I have previously been:
  • Sessional trainer in Personal Development with counselling students at Regional Technical College, Cork
  • Trainer of counselling students at Cork Counselling Centre
  • Trainer of counsellors at Women's counselling centre, Tirana, Albania
  • Presented experiential training workshops to voluntary and statutory groups on a variety of topics
  • Consultant therapist and trainer with Medecins Sans Frontieres, London
  • Tutor on MSc (Integrative Paychotherapy)at Metanoia Institute, London

    Previously, I worked for many years as a Psychiatric Social Worker in Birmingham and Ireland. I have also worked as a Child Care Social Worker in Cork.
